Effective delegation...

"It is just easier if I do it myself!"  The manager's mantra. 

To get work done through others, you must be able to delegate tasks and assignments to others.

Delegation can serve many purposes:

  • matching the right talent with the right job
  • using the assignment as a growth opportunity
  • involving all of your talent in the work effort
  • building self-esteem, skills, and visibility

Too many managers view delegation with fear and trepidation.  But, using an effective process for delegation will create the type of environment where all can contribute to the work effort.
